Setting up Avaya Equinox for Windows

Configuration of the Avaya Equinox softphone application.

Body

  1. Open the application
  2. At the prompt to join a meeting or configure your account, choose configure your account

  1. Do not enter your email. In the top right, click the gear icon.

  1. Choose the option to enter a web address

  1. Enter the url: http://sm-onex.voip.me.edu/46xxsettings.txt
    1. Note: This will not work while on campus. We are actively trying to fix this. It will work on VPN.
  2. Enter your extension and phone password.
    1. Note: This password must be configured for you by IT before you can use the softphone.

  1. Log in with your four digit extension and the password is provided from the IT Department.  You may get a connection lost message in the bottom right, this is normal during the initial setup of the program.
  2. Once you're logged in you will be presented with a tutorial for the program.
  3. Make a test call and ensure that you can hear and speak with the other person.
